First Snow

Dori kept asking when we’d get the first snow. She thought that as soon as all the leaves fell off the tree, the snow would come. She thought that December 1st would be the first snow – just because. She heard on the radio that the first snow would come tonight – and lucky for us, it came during the day.

The kids have seen snow before. They’ve sledded and attempted to ski. They’ve built snowmen. But they’ve never seen it fall.

It was so much fun to see the kids’ excitement. They played together in the yard in the dark until they were too cold to play any more. Then they knew it was time for hot chocolate.

Here’s Mark while the kids played outside.

Dori wanted to know whether the “first snow” is supposed to last this long.

Here are the kids playing in the snow.

While a lot of the snow didn’t stick here, parts of NJ got several inches.

Here’s our happy pumpkin.
