Pay at the Pump

My friend Lora sent me this link to New Jersey gas station violations.

Last year, the state inspected more than 1,000 gas stations, and a third of them (35o) were cited for violations including meter issues, price per gallon differences on either side of the pump, station registration not available and too many price changes in a 24 hour period.

The fine? $1,500 for the first offense and $3,000 for the second.

I can’t understand why we’re having budgetary issues with this many gas stations in violation of the law. I propose New Jersey inspect EVERY gas station. At a 33% violation rate, the state will be in the black in no time.
