Little League Gun Dealers

We’re starting our first Little League season next month. Hopefully we won’t have to deal with a similar controversy, brewing in a town 25 minutes away.

There, a dad wants to sponsor his son’s baseball team. His dad owns Constitution Arms – he’s a gun dealer. And the town is apparently similar to Berkeley, CA, – it has an annual “Be About Peace” Day.

The volunteer committee running Little League turned down his sponsorship offer. The rules are apparently broad. However the league overseers (it’s unclear if that’s Maplewood’s league or the greater area league) have allowed companies selling liquor and tabacco to sponsor teams. And they’ve allowed Cluck-U Chicken to sponsor as well. Past  advertisements show a woman in a bikini, with the sloagan: “large breasts, juicy thighs, lucious legs.”
