Westfield’s claim to fame

Most kids probably know that Dr. Seuss’s birthday was just celebrated – on March 2nd. My six degrees of separation to Dr. Seuss are that he (Theodore Geisel) was roommates with my friend’s grandfather at Dartmouth. I know, I know. You’re all thinking “wow!”

Here is Westfield, we have another connection to Geisel. Geisel married his first wife, Helen Palmer Geisel, in  Westfield, NJ in 1927 – in Helen’s brother’s home. We can thank Helen for encouraging Ted to be a professional artist. Helen was a children’s book author and editor. And she was four years older than him.
