Bulk Pick-Up

It’s our favorite week of the year: bulk pick up. No, not because we get to dump all crap that the regular garbage trucks won’t take (though that helps too). Because in addition to all the pee-stained cushions, broken furniture, and dirt-encrusted toys with missing parts, people put out some great stuff for the taking. Last year we got two matching planters.

Mark, who usually drags the kids away from the piles, came back from picking up the kids at school (no, he wasn’t laid off), carrying a nice pair of skis. Then he headed back out to get a basketball hoop down the street. He’s now the kids’ hero. (He did leave behind the 10 basketball trophies which I assume will make it into bulk pick-up).

Happy boy!

  1. Mark rocks! Neil used to hate using coupons, but now he’s hooked too. It takes about, what, 10 years?

  2. Deb, We have bulk pick up in Chatham once a month (either the first Thursday or first Friday of the month) People come from all over—-and in pick up trucks to take their “pick” of what is at the curb. You might want to venture out to other towns next….
